The course is made up of short bite-sized video lessons. You’ll learn step-by-step and won’t be overloaded with too much information and jargon.

You’ll be able to download the files used in the video lessons and try out what you’ve been shown. Additional exercises are also available to download for extra practice.
Get tutor support
Your EC-PC Tutor will support you during the course, answering any questions by email. Telephone and remote support is also available when appropriate.
Learn relevant skills
The course content has been produced in line with Microsoft standards so you’ll learn relevant skills recognised in the workplace.
There’s an online assessment for each of the 4 modules. You’ll get an e-certificate for each module that you pass. Pass all 4 modules and you’ll obtain the EC-PC Office IT Intermediate User Certificate.
You’ll need to have good existing skills using Microsoft Word and Excel, eg be familiar with the majority of topics covered on our EC-PC Office IT Basic User Course.
You’ll need a Windows PC, with a reliable broadband connection, preferably installed with an up-to-date version of Microsoft Office. If you do not have Microsoft Office installed on your PC then we can provide a 3 month licence – please contact us for more details. The recommended browser to view the course is Google Chrome. The free online version of Microsoft Outlook is used during the course. You’ll need to be able to login to www.outlook.com , ie have an email address ending with @outlook.com , @hotmail.com or @hotmail.co.uk .
The course costs £200.
Funding is available if you live in Scotland, and you are unemployed or earn less than £1,800 per month > more info).

When does the course start?
The course has a flexible start date – you can join the course at any time.
How long does it take to complete the course?
You’ll work through the lessons for each module at your own pace. As a rough estimate if you complete a few lessons a day then the course would take a few months to complete.
What is the pass mark for each module assessment?
The pass mark is 70%.
What happens if I fail an assessment?
We’ll tell you the topics that you need to revise. When you’re ready you can resit the assessment.
Is there a time limit to complete the course?
You’ll get 12 months to complete the course.
Will I be able to access the video lessons after I complete the course?
Yes, you’ll be able to login to the course for 12 months from your start date.
