A self-paced online course to get you started using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and OneDrive!

  • Change Sheet Settings in Microsoft Excel
  • Use Tools to Work with Cells in Microsoft Excel
  • Insert Basic Formula in Microsoft Excel
  • Use the Fill Handle in Microsoft Excel
Is there tutor help?

Yes, your EC-PC Tutor is available to help online if required.


During the course your EC-PC Tutor will answer any questions by email, but if necessary a quick 1-to-1 remote session can be arranged to cover any problem areas.

Are there any course requirements?

You'll need a Windows PC or Chromebook, with a reliable broadband connection.


The free online versions of Microsoft Word and Excel are used during the course - to use them you'll need to have a Microsoft Account and be able to login to (ie have an email address ending with, or

Yes, we can help you create your free account if required.

Will I get a certificate?

If you complete all the lessons and pass an online assessment

you'll receive the EC-PC Digital Skills for Work Certificate.

When does the course start?

The course has a flexible start date - you can join the course at any time. 

When does the course end?

You'll be able to access the online learning for 12 months from the start of the course.

How much does the course cost?

The course costs £200. 

Is there any funding available to pay for the course?

Yes, you could be eligible to apply for funding if you live in Scotland and you are not working.

You could also be eligible if you are employed (or self-employed) and live in Scotland, with an annual income less than £22,000.
